HELLO!
I'm sorry it's been so long! We've been swamped this week working an event for Cisco in San Diego as a fundraiser for our outreach.
So... the week of April 9th-13th, a man named Mark came and talked to us all week. He was super intelligent. He taught us about communicating with God and about how we are ambassadors for Christ, so we can do things, like miraculous things, in Christ's name. (: We liked Mark.
Then, Sunday, we left for San Diego. We were pretty stoked, and training went really well, but it was a really long week. We worked all sorts of different positions- directing executives to their next activities, letting them in to events, providing information, holding signs... It was a week of long days and short nights, but now we're home in LA and it is so so good. We have the weekend off to recuperate, refuel, and relax before another exciting week at YWAM.
Thank you for your continued prayers(: Please be praying for the kids in my group, too:
Elisabeth, Sarang, Azaa, Asma, Isaac, Luke, Ryan, Pat, and our leaders Johnny, Nina, Dani, and Big D.
God bless!
Big D? Isn't that Dallas? Well even if it isn't, your group will be in my prayers. I will pray for God to show you where he wants you to go and makes resources available for you to get there. God always seems to pave the way, if it is too rocky, maybe it's not His path!
ReplyDeleteHad to leave you with this joke:
One day, Joe, Bob and Dave were hiking in a wilderness area when they came upon a large, raging, violent river. They needed to get to the other side, but had no idea of how to do so.
Joe prayed to God, saying, "Please God, give me the strength to cross this river."
Poof! God gave him big arms and strong legs, and he was able to swim across the river in about two hours, although he almost drowned a couple of times.
Seeing this, Dave prayed to God, saying, "Please God, give me the strength and the tools to cross this river."
Poof! God gave him a rowboat and he was able to row across the river in about an hour, after almost capsizing the boat a couple of times.
Bob had seen how this worked out for the other two, so he also prayed to God saying, "Please God, give me the strength and the tools, and the intelligence, to cross this river."
Poof! God turned him into a woman. She looked at the map, hiked upstream a couple of hundred yards, then walked across the bridge.
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DeleteDad, you're so brilliant(: Hehe. I love you.
Hi Ashley,
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to let you know I have been thinking of you and that I read your blog. Clearly you are having an amazing adventure, an amazing God-adventure. Who knows how this will change your life, and quite possibly the lives of many others as God works through you? I prayed for you and your group this morning. May God help you fully utilize this wonderful opportunity you have.
I have been praying a lot this morning because Toby got his driver's license recently (very exciting!) and took his first solo drive today. I'm a nervous mother--but he called me as soon as he got to the Skills Center to let me know he made it. Whew! I also prayed for your parents today. Having your kids do wonderful adventures is hard on parents sometimes.
Your dad had a great joke to leave with you, but I don't. So I will leave you with some maybe not-so-great-jokes that I thought were funny. Do you like frogs? Well, here's your frog jokes for the day.
What happened to the frogs that were in a no-parking zone?
They got toad away.
What do frogs wear to keep their feet cool?
Open-toad shoes.
What do frogs order at fast food restaurants?
French flies and a croak.
Sending prayers your way!
Cherry Wilson
Haha thank you so much Mrs. Wilson! I'm so glad you've been praying for us- we really appreciate it! I love your frog jokes :P I'll definitely be sharing those with my crew(:
